Singing a song

Well this is my last speaking practice for the blog. I didn't know what to do because i already talked with some people in english so i didn't want to do the same in the last one. So i decided to sing a song and practice the pronunciation, and know the meaning of some words that i didn't know.

I think that this kind of exercise really helped me because when i was listening the song and could hear the pronunciation and be better.

President Obama

I was reading that one of Obama's plans is to create millions of jobs by 2011. He wants to make public buildings more efficient, repearing bridges, modernize schools and that the health care professionals have the latest technology. Also, he said: "We need to upgrade our federal buildings by replacing old heating systems and installing efficient light bulbs. That won't just save you, the American taxpayer, billions of dollars each year. It will put people back to work." In addition, he said, "It is unacceptable that the United States ranks 15th in the world in broadband adoption. Here, in the country that invented the Internet, every child should have the chance to get online.
"In addition to connecting our libraries and schools to the Internet, we must also ensure that our hospitals are connected to each other through the Internet." These are a few parts of the economic plan that he will be rolling out in these weeks. Obama said that When Congress reconvenes in January, he look forward to working with them to pass a plan immediately. "We won't do it the old Washington way. We won't just throw money at the problem.
"We will measure progress by the reforms that we make and looking the results by the jobs that we create, by the energy we save, by whether America is more competitive in the world," Obama added.

another week...

I liked a lot this week. The most important thing was my birthday on December second. I'm 20 years old. Everything started on Saturday because i went to a disco with my friends, it was really cool. On sunday, my family went to my house an d we ater together, there were my grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.. It was good because there was alot of time that we weren't be together like a happy family. I felt really good. On monday i had to study a little bit for my english test and other test. Finally, the important day came. It was my b-day! I came to the school and all my friends said happy b-day to me. In a class evryboday was singing the song: "happy b-day to you, happy b-day dear alexis..." it was really cool. After that some of my friends bought a cake and we ate it here in the cafeteria. At night, i went to the restaurant "miques" with my friends. It was good. The food was delicious and so cheap. We talked a lot about so much things. The next day it was Sara's B-day. We bought a cake for her too. After school, we went to ate at "Konsushi". Today it will be the party from my english class. I think that it will be good. We will eat pizza, drink coke, and some candies. This is the last level in english. I will miss everybody!

Talking about the weekend

For this speaking section i was talking with Geraldine to practice. We were talking about what are we going to do on the weekend. She told me on Friday she will hang out with her boyfriend. Maybe they are going to the movies and then they are going to "Konsushi" for dinner. On Saturday we have a party from a very good friend. She is Pawlina. She is going to party on a night club called "Level". I think that we are going to have so much fun. We will dance a lot. I think that before that we are going to dinner at "lapalapa".

Also, I told her that on Friday i will go to a concert for an artist called "Reik". After that, maybe i will go to a party with some of my college friends.

Winter break

The semester is ending, and the winter break is coming. Im really excited because i want to have some vacations. I think that im going to stay in Merida with my family and friends. But it doesn't matter because i can hang out with some friends that will stay in town too.

Winter break is really cool, because is time to be with the family. For me, Christmas day is the most important in all the winter break. My family and me always have a dinner in my home, then we give it to us all the presents. This is not a very important thing but its like a tradition. We don't have to give a very expensive present but maybe just a souvenir.

When i was a child, in the Christmas night i always wanted to go to the bed so early because i thought that it i was sleeping Santa Claus will come faster. In the next morning, i woken up so fast and walked down ths stairs to open all the presents that Santa Claus had brought to me.

I played with the games all day long. I had so much fun when i was a child. Obviusly now is so different beacuse i go to bed so late. I go to parties with friends after the dinner. And the games are not the most important thing for Chritsmas.

missing good times...

When a i went to Houston for a year, i really met very god people. I had a group of very nice friends. Sometimes we chat or talk by a program in the computer that is like we are having a phonecalling. Yesterday, i talked with a girl from there. She told me that she has a baby. I couldn't believe it. She is so young. She told me that she is very happy, obviusly in the begining she was scared because be a mom is not to easy. I was really excited. She send me some pictures and we talked about it. After that, we remembered a lot of things that we used to do in that year. We used to go to the movies on fridays, sometimes we used to do pool's partys. we loved it becuase Houston is really hot on summer. Also We talked about the high school. I really liked it. Everybody was nice. The schools there are so pretty and very big. She told me about the others friends that we have. When i talk with my friends i feel like i want to go there again for a year, but i think that now is so difficult because im in college. Maybe I could go on summer.

I'm missing the good times that i lived there.

A normal conversation

This week my family from California, USA arrived to Merida. My cousin is 18 years old. She is a nice girl. She didn't speak a lot of spanish so i have to talk with her in english. I think that is really good because i will practice my pronunciation and i can write in my blog about it for the speaking section.

We were talking for a long time. She told me about her friends, her school and her country, becuase i never went to California. She said me that i have to go to California and we will go to disneyland and others beautiful places. In California the party never ends.

I told her that Merida is a beautiful place, We should go to the beach, and go to some night clubs. She wil meet my friends, my school, my home and a lot of things.

She will stay like 4 months here so i think that we will have so much fun.

Journal

This week was really good and very busy. I had a lot of test because the semester is ending. Im so happy about it but its really tired because we have to take a lot of finals tests and projects.
I have so much homework to do for this week. The school is killing me. The weekend was cool. On friday i went t the movies with my boyfriend and some friends. we saw Twilight. I loved the movie. The guy is so handsome and the story very interesting. A lot of people read the book and say that i have to read it because it is so good. But, im not sure that i will read it. I don't like to read a lot, but i dont know. Then we went to dinner at burguer king. On saturday some friends came to my home to do a project for an assignature. After that, i went to a discoteque with my friends from FCA to celebrate my b-day. It was cool, we had so much fun and we danced a lot. My birthday is on next tuesday, december second. Im not sure what im going to do. Maybe i will go to dinner with my friends. well, that's it.

A cool vacation

The Antarctic is becoming a popular place for a vacation. Thousands of tourists visit every year to see its spectacular ice, snow, and wildlife. The season starts in early November and finishes in early March. Currently, there are about 120 cruises a year to Antarctica. However, these cruises are not like Caribbean or Mediterranean luxury cruises. Although on the ship, conditions can be quiet comfortable, the bad weather, difficult conditions, and danger make this vacation a tough experience. Yet for those interested in wildlife and the environment, it's a wonderful opportunity to experience something new and to photograph whales and other sea life. Most vacations last between eight and fifteen days. Most tourists stay in floating hotels, but some even camp on the ice. Many people worry about the effect on the environment of all these tourists. In fact, though, studies show that tourism causes very little damage. Because the tourists are interested in the environment, they are very careful not destroy it. The tour companies also try hard to make sure the areas they visit are not polluted, as this would be bad for business. Interestingly, far more problems are caused by the researchers and scientists, who are only now beginning to take their garbage away-after complaints from tourists.

Then he started to work for the T.V. appearing in a realy show called "Temptation" for Telemundo. Now, he is working in Mexico. He appeared in a lot of famous novella like "cuidado con el angel" and "Pasion". In 2006, a very famous magazine called him like one of the 50 more sexy man on the world. Journal

The last week i went to the "simposium + valor" that was really cool. I think that i learned a lot. It started on thursday at 4 pm. There were two meetings a little bit diferents but everything was well. I went to have lunch in BBQ House with some friends. The next day we had to go to Siglo XXI so early. The meetings started at 9 am. On the break i went to the movies. I watched "CEGUERA" a very bad movie, it was really bad so i didn't watch the end. At night, i went to "Ixmatkuil" it was so so, because we were so tired so we couldn't walk a lot.

The simposium came to the end. The meetings of the last days were very interesting. I loved one of them. It was called "Supervivencia y crecimiento empresarial en tiempos de crisis" by the director of "boxito Store"

Finally on sunday and monday i didn't anything because i was really tired. But I really liked the simposium.

Memories of a man

After my wife died a year ago, my son and daughter started to ask questions like "Are you going to stay in this big house all alone?" and "Don't you think a smallapartment would be better for you, now?" They still ask me these same questions all the time. I know that they want me to leave so they can sell the house and share the money. But i don't want to move. Although i am eighty-two, I am indeoendent and able to look after myself. They think i am being selfish, but all my memories are here. This is where i spent all my life and i don't want to go to a strange place. I have some good friends who live near here, and i would miss them. My children seldom visit. Why would i want to live in a strange place away from my friends? I know one day i might have to leave if i am ill, but not yet. My health is good, and i want to stay here. I wish my children would stop trying to force me out. I don't want to argue with them, but i don't want to move out of this house. I feel so miserable.

My first visit to Disney world

The first time that i went to Disney world, Florida was when i was 11 years old. I remember that i was really excited. When i arrived to the park i felt something weird. I played all the games and i watched all the shows. Everything was beautiful. Sometimes i felt really tired but it didn't matter i just wanted to keep walking and keep visiting.

I saw a lot of attractions, like the space mountain, splash mountain.

Also, i saw a lot of shows, like finding nemo, the fantasmic, lion king, but my favorite was the beauty & the beast.

I went back a few times,but i think that the first is the most important, and the one that i never will forget.

I think that go to disney world is the dream of every kid.

Hey.. I don't remember a lot about this week. I think that was a normal one. The last weekend i went to the disco with some friends. we had some fun. Starting the week, everything changed. I had to do a lot of homeworks, test, etc. On tuesday i didn't go to the english class because I took a test on the marketing class at the same hour.
Today i took an stadistics test, it was very difficult. I studied a lot but im not sure about my grade.
Tomorrow the "Simposium" will start. I'm so excited about it. It's about business. There are a lot pf parties.

Week Octuber 26-30

Hey there!

This was a normal week. I did not a lot of things like the others. On Sunday i went to a friend's house. We did some homework and then we ate at Carl's Junior. On Monday i went to a soccer game. Some of my friends played. It was so funny beacuse they don't play very well. They lost 6-1. After the game we went to dinner.
On Tuesday i just went to my mkt and english class. Yestarday i went to the casino "Juega Juega" with my mom. We won 18 pesos lol. Today i will go to my english class. In the night maybe i will go to the disco with my friends from high school. I'm very excited about it because we have a lot of time without see us. Tomorrow i 'm going to a pool party. The wheather is not very good but i'm going. At the night is the soccer game FCA vs PREPA 2.

Some of the words that I learned are:

4.- The gross profit margin is the profit of business makes before costs are considered.

5.- The setting-up costs are the costs involved in creating a new business.

The Prince & me

I watched this movie and I thing that is very interesting. It talks about a guy that have to be a king but he ran away from his responsabilities. He gone to one part from west America. When he arrived there, he changed his name and he started to go to college like a normal guy. He met a beautiful girl and they was dating a lot. She was in love with him, but that is not the problem. The problem was tha she didn't know about the real life of the guy. He had to go back with his family because his father was sick. She knew all the true and she decided to be with him. They went to Dinamarca and in few days she changed all her normal life for a "Real life".

My journal October 20-26

Hello!

This week was very active. Everything started on Monday I went to the school, everything was good. On tuesday i went to my marketing class, then i went to my english class and finally i went to the stadium to do a little bit of exercise with some friends. On wednesday i went to the movies with all my friends from FCA, it was really cool. We watch the movie "REC", it was so scared.
On thursday i didn't anything because i was sick, i didn't go to my marketing and english class.
The next day i went to lunch with my friends. we went to T.G. Fridays. I love this restaurant.
On saturday we went to Planet Bowl. I hate bowling, i'm so bad. lol. After that we went to dinner to "Taco Arabe" and finally we went to Gallerias mall.
That was all my week :)

My Friends

I like a lot of things, but one of its is to hang out with my friends. I think that i have very good friends. I always have a great time with them, also if we only go to a park or we just stay at home.

Friends are people that you make with the time and you can trusth in them. In Fca i met a lot of people, but a real friend is one that help you whenever you need, or whenever you want, in the good one or in the bad one.

We are so differents, we have a different style, different likes, but the most importante thing is that i love them.

My journal October 13-19

Hey!
I Loved this week! First on Monday I went to the movies with a friend... but now he is my boyfriend, im really happy.
On wednesday i went to a friend's house. We watch the football soccer game. The score was Mexico 1- Canada 1.On thursday i went to the casino Golden Island with my mom. I didn't like it because i lost my money. On Friday, the school make a party for all the students but specially for the students of first and second semester. I went with all my friends. We danced a lot, so we had a lot of fun.
The weeken was relax, on saturday we went to a park, and we were talking a lot about everything. It was cool.

Rose Rice, 22, was headed back to Delta, Pa., on Sunday after attending a Baltimore Ravens game when she lost control of her vehicle and ended up at the bottom of a steep embankment, according to her mother, Trish Demarest. The family enlisted friends to help search for Rice. On Tuesday, a passer-by saw Rice's Jeep at the bottom of a hill.
Rescue crews took the roof off the Jeep and were able to rescue Rice.
She suffered a brain injury that required surgery and had several broken bones, her mother said. Demarest said she and her family are grateful that the story didn't have a worse ending.

The film follows an ex-CIA Preventer, who is faced with recovering his daughter after she is kidnapped by human traffickingsex-traffickers in Paris, France.Bryan, a former secret agent living in the US. He is skilled in hand to hand combat, divorced; and loves his 17-year-old daughter Kim, who lives with his ex-wife and her new husband. Kim wants to take a vacation in Europe with her friend Amanda, and together follow U2's European tour. Kim's mother allows this, but Kim also needs permission from her father. Since Kim fears that Bryan will not consent, she pretends that they will only stay in Paris. Reluctantly, Bryan agrees.In Paris a seemingly friendly young man named Peter proposes to share a taxi with them to the house where Kim and her friend are staying, and so they do. However, the man works for a criminal organization, to which he reports the address. In the house, after a few minutes Kim receives a phone call from her father, where she then goes to the bathroom. She then sees from the bathroom window, men entering the room and abducting Amanda. Bryan is able to gain critical information about the kidnappers in the final moments after Kim is kidnapped by telling her to shout out everything about them that she notices. Bryan talks to one of the kidnappers, telling him that if they let his daughter go he will not pursue them, before the man smashes his daughters phone.Using his contacts in the CIA and the business connections of his ex-wifes husband, Bryan travels to Paris to find her, informed that the kidnappers are sex-slavers and that he has only 96 hours to recover his daughter before she will disappear forever. Once arriving, Bryan acts like a customer, and after making his way inside begins to search for Kim. Unfortunately, he only finds her jacket, on another woman. He then is discovered and has to escape with the girl.Nursing the girl back to health from an involuntary drug addiction, Bryan finds out where the kidnappers took her after she was abducted. Bryan heads to the address, and though he doesn't find Kim, he does find Marco, subduing him and killing most of the kidnappers. Then he sees his daughter being sold, he forces one of the buyers to purchase her, but is captured and knocked unconscious moments later.
finally, he took her daughter and they went back to U.S.A with her mother.

This is a very good movie. It's so interesting. You should watch it.

hey there!
well, this week was a good one. I took a lot of test but i got a good greats, so I'm so happy.
On Monday i went to a friend's house, so we could talk a lot, and we studied a little bit lol.
On wednesday I stayed at home because i had a family time. My grandmother, grandfather, aunts and uncles came to my home and we ate together. Today I'm going to my english class because the last class i couldn't go.
Tomorrow i will go to lunch with some friends from High School because we have a lot of time without see us. We will go to Konsushi. On the weekend I'm going to the disco with my friends from FCA. We want to have fun.
